Description

In this public information film sponsored by the National Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis, comedians and actors Jimmy Logan and Stanley Baxter demonstrate how easy it is to have your chest x-rayed. The film opens in Baxter's dressing room. Logan arrives and tries to convince a reluctant Baxter to join him in having his chest x-rayed to dectect any signs of tuberculosis. The comedians discuss some of Baxter's worries about the procedure before deciding to go off together. At the x-ray unit we see Baxter being examined, with Logan again on hand to soothe his worries. Logan provideds information and reassurances to Baxter and the viewer through a voiceover. The film comes to an end with Logan and Baxter sitting for tea. Baxter expresses his relief at being in the clear, with Logan turning to address the camera directly, calling on the viewers to go for a checkup and again trying to allay their fears.
