Description
This film records the opening of Inverness Municipal Airport by His Grace the Duke of Sutherland in 1933. This was the original Inverness Airport which was located on Longman airstrip just outside Inverness. John Tranum (Champion Parachutist) arrives by car after losing train connection at Pitlochry. The film features shots of general antics on the airfield as someone in "drag"(a man dressed as a woman) is bundled into a Gypsy Moth bi-plane, which then takes off, performs a few stunts and then lands.
