Description
Opening credits. Expectant crowds, including a band of pipers, sit and watch a football match. There are shots of the game, including one of the teams running onto the pitch in their striped strip. We then see people on the boating lake, before shots of children on a carnival float at the start of the parade. We see various floats, including a spectacular two-headed dragon. Some children then dance in costume, before we see the boating lake again, this time with a large model toy steamer and a model of the Loch Ness monster. A brass band marches down the street followed by cyclists and then the carnival floats. There is more of the football match, with scanning shots of the watching crowds; a pipe band then marches in the field. An older couple judge a line of girls, and one is crowned carcity queen. There is then a boy's relay race, cycle races, and a shot of a man holding a horse by the head. We return to the football game - the team in plain shirts run onto the pitch, the referee tosses for sides, and a lady dignitary kicks off the match.
